Connecticut’s Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) Wildlife Division and the Friends of Sessions Woods, as part of the Year of the Snake awareness campaign with Partners in Amphibian and Reptile Conservation (PARC), are sponsoring a special day to celebrate snakes. Snake Day is scheduled for Sunday, June 23, from 1:00 – 4:00 PM, at the Sessions Woods Wildlife Management Area, in Burlington. Families and anyone else interested in snakes are encouraged to participate in this free event, which will consist of informative talks on Connecticut's native snakes, snake crafts, face painting, and a chance to see live snakes. Brian Kleinman from Riverside Reptiles (www.RiversideReptiles.com) will provide an educational program at 2:45 PM featuring several live snakes.
