Now Accepting Nominations for the 2017 SilverSource Awards

STAMFORD, CT - SilverSource – a leader in advocating for the needs of older adults and their families– announced today that it is now accepting nominations for the 2017 SilverSource Awards. The awards celebrate the exceptional advancements and meaningful contributions made in improving the lives of adults over age 60 throughout lower Fairfield County by volunteers, individuals, businesses and organizations. There is no cost to enter. Nominations may be made by visiting SilverSource.org and are due by June 1, 2017. Awards will be presented during the 3rd Annual SilverSource Autumn Breakfast at the Italian Center of Stamford this fall.

“As a leader in advocating for older adults and their families, we are proud to recognize those who are part of this expanding movement of innovation, advocacy and caring, for the benefit and quality of life of older members of our communities, said Kathleen Bordelon, Executive Director for SilverSource, Inc. “These awards celebrate the advancements, actions, and programs that qualitatively improve the lives of older people, keeping them healthier, safe, engaged, and more independent.”
Award Details
The SilverSource Community Service Volunteer Award is given to an outstanding volunteer age 50 or over who is sharing their experience, talent, and skills to enrich the lives of older adults.

The SilverSource Contribution to Community Award is given to an outstanding individual, as well as an outstanding organization or business that provides significant improvements to the region as a place to live and retire.

Nominations Now Open
Nominations are now open to volunteers, individuals, organizations, businesses and groups or collaborative initiatives that contribute to the lives of older adults. All nominations will be evaluated by a panel of judges comprised of community, business and thought leaders. All achievements, accomplishments or service on which nominations are based must reflect the SilverSource vision and mission. The Awards recognize high impact programs and initiatives in Fairfield County. There is no cost to enter.

The SilverSource mission is to advance the dignity, independence and quality of life of older adults by providing guidance for families and supportive services to those who are in need, by engaging in community partnerships and by advocating for sound public policies. SilverSource envisions a society that ensures older adults have the resources to live independent, healthy and fulfilled lives.

Enter your nomination by using the online form, or download a PDF with full details and email it to Awards@SilverSource.org or fax it to 203-324-3787. The deadline to submit a nomination is June 1, 2016, and the awards will be presented at the 3rd Annual SilverSource Autumn Breakfast in October.
